We currently have an opportunity for a Senior Project Accountant / Finance Business Partner to support the Cyber Security Division site. You will be a key member of the Integrated Project Team (IPT) supporting the UK Government customer, to drive financial performance, systems, compliance and reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Financial business partnering with the UK Government Line of Business, fully integrated into the contract delivery IPT's
  • Financially accountable for internal and external contract financial reporting
  • Customer financial liaison for queries and in support of annual contract audits
  • Financial delegation for contract modelling and financial change control for contract changes
  • Preparation of the project sales trading plans with the appropriate Project Manager or Project Engineering Manager.
  • Provide financial support to Integrated Business Management activity and the monthly contract review process and support the Programme Managers Contract Status Reviews.
  • Posting of Journals to SAP and help increase the project accuracy in SAP, working with the project IPT.
  • Support the rolling IPT financial forecasts for orders, sales, revenue, margin, cash, & WIP using information gathered as part of the contract review process, or IPT discussions, analysing risks and opportunities against the forecast.
  • Support the financial input required as part of the bidding process for future business, including cash flow information, EBIT & EVA optimization and assessment of any tax, commercial or financial risks.
  • Support the annual update of the five year IBP and phased budget.
  • Support the generation of Monthly & Qtr divisional reports in line with Group Accounting Policies
  • Analysis and presentation of performance dashboards for review at senior management level
  • Deputise for the Financial Controller in meetings when needed.
  • Ad hoc duties as directed by the Financial Controller.


Experience and Personal Characteristics

  • Qualified Accountant strongly preferred.
  • Project accounting / Long term contract experience strongly preferred.
  • Proficient in SAP with systems knowledge an advantage
  • Proficient in MS Excel , ideally to an advanced level
  • Commercial acumen and ability to minimize commercial / financial risks
  • The ability to drive forward a robust and enabling financial strategy that support the integrated business plan(s)
  • Career experience working with senior management teams preferably in a matrix organisation
  • Enthusiastic; a can-do attitude with a capacity to overcome barriers and make an impactful change
  • Strong leadership and motivational skills
  • Strong interpersonal and clear, unambiguous communication skills
  • Strategic and creative thinking
  • Organizational agility - managing workload against priorities.
